Steal the Dollar Shave Club way…

There are 26 letters in the English alphabet.

And there are a limited number of words and sentences you can create with them.

So today I will show you a way to steal like an artist.

(Ideas… I meant steal ideas…)

Especially if you are a copywriter.

Because no matter how much you try…

You can’t be 100% unique and new all the time.

Everything has been said already.

So even tho you think you came up with the most unique idea ever.

Probably somebody else already came up with it before you.

Because of this…

It’s OK to reuse things as a copywriter.

(No it’s not okay to reuse your underwe… Whatever…)

Let’s take this example:

Pimsleur(search it up) sells language learning courses.

They ran a headline that said: ”Language professors hate him”

A really really successful campaign.

Dollar Shave Club was smart enough to modify this idea for his own needs and came up with:

"Why are big razor companies afraid of this man?”

They are still running this headline. Customers love it.

(Nobody is calling them a scammer, or saying that they ripped off Pimsleur)

Dollar Shave Club was smart about it.

And they built a huge business because of it (not just this one idea, but this helped too)

You can do the exact same thing.

You can reuse ideas and concepts from old or new sales letters.

But there is one thing you should look out for before using any of them.

Customization.

You need to modify it for your market.

Take the basic concept and add your own twist to it.

Don’t just directly rip off their big idea.

Like the guy who copy-paste your posts on Twitter.

Put some effort into it.

That’s how you avoid being called a ‘scammer’.

If you do this right you will see great results.

‘Till next time.
