The stupidest scam since the dawn of men…

I want to tell you a quick story.

I was just working today when I noticed something unusual.

Two men were shouting in front of our house and aggressively spamming the bell button.

So I went out to see what the hell was going on.

Turns out these were 2 guys dressed as some kind of garbage man demanding us to give them $20.

I say “us” because our neighbor is my grandma, and they did the same thing at her house.

Of course, we didn’t give them money out of the blue.

We asked them a couple of questions like… If they are garbage men where is their truck? (it was nowhere to be seen - they had a regular car)... Or whether they have some kind of ID card that could verify them(of course they didn’t).

Eventually, they fled the scene pretty fast when they heard the word “police”.

But this wasn’t their first try to scam people.

I already heard about them before from a couple of guys.

Now… the good thing is there aren’t many people doing such things in the real world.

The bad thing is… There are way more of them online.

People who are going around banging on the door of your DMs, shouting and screaming their claims, and expect you to give them money for nothing in return, or maybe some measly product that has barely any value to it whatsoever.

You probably met a couple of them already.

They are in your Twitter DMs. They are in your inbox. And they are all over social media.

Some look fairly credible.

But luckily most of them look like a straight rip-off.

Their copy is usually hyped up through the roof and full of spelling mistakes.

They get offended when you tell them you want nothing to do with their crappy service.

And of course… They have no proof whatsoever, other than some photoshopped, faked, or maybe even stolen testimonials.

The biggest negative of this isn’t even that we might get scammed by them.

The red flags instantly give them away.

The problem is… They paint a bad picture of marketing, copywriting and sometimes even business online as a whole.

Anyway…

Stay safe guys.
