Unpopular headline tip that will help you write blockbusters even if you suck at headlines:

Simply write more headlines.

No, I don’t mean to write headlines until you become good at them.

…But let me just explain how to use it…

It’s dead simple, okay?

As a first step, just write more headlines for the project you are currently working on than you would usually do.

I’m not talking about 2, 3, 5 more headlines. Write as many as you can, even if most of them aren’t THAT good.

Just focus on quantity for now.

You will see why in a minute.

The second step will be just as simple, but way more fun.

Gather all the headlines you just wrote…

And mix them up.

Get all those “okay” headlines you wrote and use that material to Frankenstein a great headline out of them.

You don’t even have to do just one.

You can also do multiple and then combine them into one final one.

Why is this better than just writing headlines?

Because it gives you more material to work with. Once you brainstormed all those “okay” headlines you will have a lot of material, ideas, and words to use. And editing a great headline out of those already existing ideas will be way easier than coming straight up with that idea.

And this isn’t just about headlines here.

You can use the exact same thing for subject lines, or just about anything and end up writing way better copy than you would usually do.

Now… If as a result, you will not have significantly better headlines…
